Descrição

• Share leadership in the design and development of key systems • Architect services using well-accepted design patterns for iterative development and future scaling • Identify architectural and code weaknesses and recommend solutions • Prototype, develop, test, and deploy applications • Work with the product team and collaborate with customers, partners, and peers to identify product requirements • Perform functional and code reviews to improve code readability and maintainability • Research and select appropriate tools for applications, emphasizing efficiency and security • Create system design and application documentation and maintain resources • Guide junior team members toward strategic goals and technical excellence • Develop and maintain Python/R notebook environments for reproducible cross-dataset bioinformatics analysis • Build reusable workflow templates for spatial and single-cell integration pipelines intended for public release • Support federated data access across multi-tenant cloud environments connecting independent disease research consortia on shared infrastructure

🎯 Requisitos

• 4+ years of professional software development experience • Demonstrable understanding of systems, algorithms, and software design • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field • Strong background in at least a subset of the listed technologies, with interest in learning the rest • Experience with Java, Python, or TypeScript ecosystems and associated frameworks/tools • Knowledge of microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure • Experience with Infrastructure as Code, databases/query engines, logging/monitoring/metrics, CI/CD, APIs, Git, and Bash/Unix automation • Knowledge of WDL/Cromwell workflow orchestration for bioinformatics pipelines • Knowledge of GCS-native data access patterns for genomics file types and distributed sparse-matrix processing • Self-starter attitude, willingness to learn, and passion for improving coding practices • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Must be eligible to work in Canada • Nice to have: big-data analysis in distributed environments, lean-development principles, healthcare/life-sciences experience, and requirements analysis with customers and partners • Employment offers are conditional upon a successful background check
