Descrição

• Conduct newsgathering, fact-checking, headline writing, and copy editing under intense minute-by-minute deadlines • Monitor the sports calendar and live events to present timely news, scores, and relevant information on the Ticker • Ensure Ticker content is well-researched, logically structured, grammatically correct, and compliant with editorial style • Review headlines and text before publishing for potential legal issues, including libel and copyright breaches • Write and enable alerts for breaking news, network programming changes, and significant sports updates • Manage and schedule promotional graphics for the Ticker at designated times throughout the day and week

🎯 Requisitos

• 2+ years of editorial experience, preferably in the online or TV medium • Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills • Familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS) and online publishing tools • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook • Strong critical thinking, news judgment, decision-making, planning, detail orientation, and sense of urgency • Proficiency using social media, the internet, and internal sources such as the AP sports wire for newsgathering and research • Proven sports knowledge, including deep understanding beyond the four major professional sports leagues • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed • Candidates living in the greater Los Angeles area preferred, though remote candidates will be considered • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field is nice to have but not a dealbreaker
