Descrição

• Define and drive the strategic direction for backend and full-stack engineering practices, architecture, and technical excellence • Lead development of scalable, reliable, and secure distributed systems serving government customers • Serve as technical authority for system architecture, data design, and engineering excellence • Design and implement service architectures, data pipelines, and infrastructure patterns • Deliver features and improvements to core services, including customer intake, application screening, and information dissemination • Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to balance technical feasibility and business requirements • Build and maintain shared libraries, service frameworks, and infrastructure patterns • Lead modernization initiatives that improve system quality, performance, and maintainability • Establish engineering best practices for API design, data modeling, testing, observability, security, and code quality • Mentor and coach engineers on backend technologies and distributed systems • Influence technical decisions across teams and advise on architecture and infrastructure initiatives • Work across the full stack when needed to solve problems end-to-end

🎯 Requisitos

• 10+ years of related experience • Must be a US Citizen • Able to obtain and maintain Public Trust 6C • Skills: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Kubernetes, User Experience (UX), Web Development • Demonstrated track record leading and delivering multiple production-ready, scalable distributed systems with measurable business impact • Experience architecting and implementing large-scale microservice architectures • Experience with distributed system patterns, including event-driven architectures, asynchronous processing, caching, and data consistency patterns • Experience designing and implementing REST, GraphQL, or similar APIs • Experience leading modernization efforts from monoliths to microservices or legacy to modern stacks • Experience with observability, monitoring, alerting, structured logging, metrics, tracing, and incident response • Familiarity with cloud-native architectures, infrastructure as code, and AWS, Azure, or GCP • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling, migration strategies, and data governance • Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Java or Python • Understanding of distributed systems principles, consistency models, consensus algorithms, failure modes, and reliability patterns • Experience with automated unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end testing • Knowledge of performance optimization, capacity planning, and cost optimization • Understanding of authentication, authorization, encryption, secrets management, and secure coding • Experience establishing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, security scanning, and deployment strategies • Familiarity with Kubernetes or ECS, Terraform or CloudFormation, and DevOps practices • Ability to design reliable systems with graceful degradation, circuit breakers, retry strategies, and disaster recovery • Working knowledge of API versioning and backward compatibility • Ability to lead large-scale technical initiatives and influence outcomes across multiple teams • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to engineers, product managers, executives, and external stakeholders • Proven track record mentoring and developing engineers at all levels
