Descrição

• Design, build and ship LLM and agentic AI systems across Rapid7’s security products • Own technical solutions end to end for the assigned area • Lead the design and architecture of AI systems within Detection and Response and Exposure and Remediation • Contribute to the technical roadmap • Recommend model strategies, including use of frontier or open-source models, fine-tuning, distillation and post-training • Fine-tune, distill and post-train open-source LLMs on security data from curation through deployment • Apply and improve context engineering, inference optimization and evaluation practices • Optimize inference for quality, latency and cost • Establish evaluations as release gates for AI systems • Lead design reviews and resolve complex technical trade-offs • Prototype and build model, training and inference code • Mentor engineers and partner with Product and platform teams • Lead AI projects or programs and break larger goals into milestones • Manage technical risks and dependencies across teams • Translate customer needs into scalable AI solutions

🎯 Requisitos

• 8+ years of software or ML engineering experience, including 2+ years building production LLM or agentic AI systems • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI or a related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience • Track record of leading scalable, production-grade AI systems used by multiple teams or products • Deep understanding of LLMs, including transformer architecture, attention, tokenization, positional encodings, training and serving • Advanced PyTorch skills, including custom model code, training loops, mixed precision and distributed training such as FSDP and DeepSpeed • Hands-on fine-tuning and post-training of open-weight LLMs, including LoRA, QLoRA, distillation, DPO and GRPO • Experience with context engineering, retrieval, memory, context management and LLM/agent evaluation benchmarks • Strong knowledge of inference optimization, KV-cache management, continuous batching, speculative decoding, quantization and serving at scale with vLLM, SGLang or TensorRT-LLM • Strong predictive AI, classical ML, distributed systems and Python fundamentals • Experience leading AI projects or programs of moderate scope and risk • Ability to manage risks and dependencies and drive issues to resolution • Ability to explain complex technical concepts and trade-offs to technical and non-technical audiences • Ability to build cross-functional partnerships and align technical approaches • Ability to translate customer needs into scalable, commercially viable AI solutions • Commitment to Rapid7’s core values
