• Be a trusted advisor to our clients by providing pragmatic advice based on defensible data and analysis • Contribute to multiple projects including technical research, client engagement, subcontractor management, and external stakeholder engagement • Plan and direct primary and secondary research to support new and updated federal and state appliance standards and test procedures • Develop and oversee laboratory testing, including developing test plans and procuring laboratory time and equipment • Foster coalition-building, negotiations, and collaborations with industry and efficiency advocates, including through groups like AHRI, AHAM, NEMA, or AMCA • Ensure high-quality deliverables, including reports and presentations

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required; bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering is preferred; higher degrees such as master’s or Ph.D. can substitute for up to 2 years of relevant experience • 8+ years of relevant experience • Direct experience developing and conducting laboratory or field research for end-use technologies • Consulting mindset: comfort contributing to complex projects with a problem-solving orientation that prioritizes client needs • Highest ethical standards • Ability to distill complex technical findings into accessible summaries, tailor content to diverse stakeholders, and maintain consistency and rigor across multi-section documents with multiple contributors • Strong organizational and project management skills, with experience coordinating interdisciplinary teams to manage timelines and deliverables • Ability to collaborate well with people at all levels within an organization • Great initiative, creativity, and curiosity; work well both on your own and as part of team • Excellent communication and presentation skills • Strong attention to detail • Confidence, enthusiasm, humility, and discretion • Desire and ability to work remotely. Committed to primary alignment with West Coast hours, with flexibility to travel for in-person meetings as needed
