Research Engineer

• Develop automated prompting techniques for our models (eg extensions to the Metaprompter)
• Finetune new capabilities into Claude that maximize Claude’s performance or ease of use given particular prompting innovations
• Lead automated evaluation of Claude models and prompts across the training and product lifecycle
• Help create and optimize data mixes for model training
• Develop and systematically test new, creative, and original prompting strategies for a wide range of research tasks relevant to our fine-tuning and end product efforts.
• Help to create and maintain the infrastructure required for efficient prompt iteration and testing.
• Develop future Anthropic products built on top of Claude.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest research in prompting and model orchestration, and share knowledge with the team.

Research Engineer, Prompting

Full-stack Engineer

• Implement and analyze research experiments, both quickly in toy scenarios and at scale in large models
• Set up and optimize research workflows to run efficiently and reliably at large scale
• Build tools and abstractions to support rapid pace of research experimentation
• Develop and improve tools and infrastructure to support other teams in using Interpretability’s work to improve model safety

Software Engineer, Interpretability

• Designing and implementing from scratch new information architecture strategies
• Performing finetuning and reinforcement learning to “teach” language models how to interact with new information architectures
• Building “hard” knowledge base eval sets to help identify failure modes of how language models work with external data
• Extending traditional ideas like RAG into heterogeneous data types (image, tables, relational data, etc.)

Research Engineer, Knowledge Bases

• Anthropic is looking for a product-minded engineer to build out anthropic’s core developer console.
• You’ll focus on building great experiences for developers building on Anthropic’s API.
• You’ll build the tools to help developers go from idea to fully scaled deployment as quickly as possible as well as give developers the tools to monitor and administer those deployments seamlessly.
• You’ll work closely with various product teams across the org as you make sure developers are able to integrate with the full range of claude’s current and future abilities.

Solutions Engineer

• As a member of the Solutions Architect team at Anthropic, you will drive the adoption of frontier AI by developing bespoke LLM solutions within the US Government space. You’ll leverage your customer-facing experience and technical skills to architect innovative solutions that address our customers' business needs, meet their technical requirements, and provide a high degree of reliability and safety.
• In collaboration with the Sales, Product, and Engineering teams, you’ll help enterprise partners incorporate leading-edge AI systems into their products. You will employ your excellent communication skills to explain and demonstrate complex solutions persuasively to technical and non-technical audiences alike. You will play a critical role in identifying opportunities to innovate and differentiate our AI systems, while maintaining our best-in-class safety standards
• Act as the primary technical advisor for prospective Public Sector customers evaluating Claude. Demonstrate how Claude can address the customer's use cases through proofs of concept. Provide technical guidance on integration, deployment, and adoption best practices.
• Partner closely with account executives to understand customer requirements. Configure Claude's capabilities to showcase how it meets the customer's needs. Develop customized pilots and prototypes, as well as evaluation suites to make the case for customer adoption
• Drive technical decision making by advising on optimal setup, architecture, and integration of Claude into the customer's existing infrastructure. Recommend solutions to technical roadblocks
• Support customer onboarding by working cross-functionally to ensure successful ramp and adoption. Serve as an ongoing technical advisor throughout implementation and beyond go-live
• Travel occasionally to customer sites for workshops, implementation support, and building relationships
• Establish a shared vision for creating solutions that enable beneficial and safe AI
• Lead the vision, strategy, and execution of innovative solutions that leverage our latest models’ capabilities

Solutions Architect, Public Sector

• Build and run elegant and thorough machine learning experiments to help us understand and steer the behavior of powerful AI systems
• Contribute to exploratory experimental research on AI safety, with a focus on risks from powerful future systems
• Run experiments that feed into key AI safety efforts at Anthropic
• Write scripts and prompts to efficiently produce evaluation questions to test models’ reasoning abilities in safety-relevant contexts

Research Engineer, Alignment Science

• Architect and build core components of the API layer that enables seamless interaction with large language models
• Develop intelligent conversational interfaces that leverage the power of language models to streamline tasks and boost productivity
• Optimize the API and interfaces for performance, scalability, and an intuitive user experience
• Collaborate with researchers to continuously improve interfaces based on real-world user interactions and feedback
• Implement tools and processes to monitor model behavior, performance, and alignment with user needs
• Contribute to the development of novel human-machine interaction paradigms that redefine how we work with AI
