•Work as a ‘department of one’ initially, whilst receiving support from our bookkeepers and our sister company’s CFO. •Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure the financial health and stability of the organization. •Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed. •Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, P&L and financial reporting (experience using Mosaic is a plus) •Establish and maintain financial controls and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations •Oversee payroll, expenses and tax compliance, and liaise with external service partners. •Advise and support the company with respect to sales tax requirements that come with SaaS ( federal/state/local) •Provide strategic insights to senior leadership on financial performance and opportunities for growth •Lead the development of financial metrics and KPIs to drive performance management and improve decision-making •Develop and implement financial strategies that optimise company spend and support business goals •Attend to the preparation of monthly Management and Board reports
•Experience in a SaaS tech start-up •A qualification in accounting or finance •Proven experience as a 'finance department of one' in a SaaS start-up •Experience leading finance through Series A/B+ •A strong understanding of B2B SaaS business models, recurring revenue recognition, unit economics, and key SaaS metrics (e.g., MRR, ARR, CAC, LTV). •Experience working with financial software systems such as Xero, Mosaic and/or Rippling •A high level of attention to detail •Experience managing payroll, including benefits management. •Proven ability to successfully manage and optimise costs with key stakeholders across a growing organization •The ability to comfortably navigate the US income and sales tax requirements that apply to SaaS (federal/state/local) •Demonstrated ability to develop and implement financial strategies that support business goals •Experience creating and delivering board reports
