📋 Description
• Write and publish daily PT-BR news updates covering regulation, enforcement, operators, suppliers, and payments • File accurate, concise stories on deadline with minimal editing • Serve as the main contact for NEXT.io’s Brazil Press Release Support package • Review, edit, and publish incoming press releases, ensuring clarity and compliance • Uphold NEXT.io’s standards for style, accuracy, and editorial integrity • Apply correct labeling, transparent sourcing, and conflict-of-interest checks • Work closely with the Senior Brazil Reporter and News Editor • Support live event coverage (blogs, live updates, wrap-ups) in Brazil and across LatAm • Collaborate with the Website Master on SEO hygiene and with the Research team on explainers • Build and maintain a Brazil source tracker • Contribute to explainers and progressively move into original reporting and exclusives
🎯 Requirements
• Native-level writing ability in Brazilian Portuguese (PT-BR) • 0–2 years of journalism/editorial experience (internships welcome) • Strong grammar, clarity, and headline-writing skills • Ability to transform press releases into engaging B2B news • Deadline-driven, reliable, and collaborative • Based in Brazil or a GMT-3-friendly time zone with overlap with EU working hours • Nice to have: working knowledge of English for cross-team collaboration • Familiarity with PT-BR SEO • Interest in iGaming, regulation, business, or tech • Experience with live event coverage • Early exposure to data and analytics in journalism
