📋 Description
• Responsible for accurately assigning ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes to inpatient records in compliance with official coding guidelines and AHIMAs Standards of Ethical Coding • Abstracts key clinical information and ensures coding accuracy and completeness • Reviews medical records to assign accurate diagnostic and procedural codes • Ensures proper abstracting of required data, including discharge disposition • Maintains at least 95.5% coding accuracy for diagnoses and procedures • Prepares compliant retrospective physician queries as needed • Stays updated with AHA, CMS, and other regulatory coding guidelines • Resolves held accounts and communicates documentation issues to leadership
🎯 Requirements
• With active CPC, CCS, CIC • 2-3 years of experience with inpatient medical coding • Handled simple to complex cases, high dollar account • Strong knowledge with CPT, ICD10, HCPCS • EMR/EHR (Epic, Cerner, Meditech, 3M encoder)
