β€’ Company Overview: At Jensen Hughes, we lead with our Purpose + Principles and value our people. β€’ Job Overview: JENSEN HUGHES has a career opening for a Senior Fire Protection Engineer in our Houston, TX office. β€’ Responsibilities: Plan, direct, and manage engineering activities for assigned projects, ensuring timelines and budgets are met. β€’ Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive building and fire code reviews and analyses to ensure compliance with local and international regulations. β€’ Responsibilities: Design fire protection systems, including fire alarms, gas detection, water-based suppression systems, and special hazard systems. β€’ Responsibilities: Conduct risk assessments, identify hazards, and develop practical solutions to prevent, mitigate, or eliminate risks. β€’ Responsibilities: Serve as the primary liaison with clients, fostering strong relationships and driving business development opportunities. β€’ Responsibilities: Prepare detailed technical reports, proposals, and presentations tailored to diverse audiences. β€’ Responsibilities: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering professional growth and technical excellence within the team.

🎯 Requirements

β€’ S. Degree or higher in Engineering, preferably Fire Protection or Chemical. β€’ Qualified candidates will have a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in code consulting, design of fire suppression and alarm systems, and developing performance-based strategies in a project design environment is required. β€’ Registered Professional Engineer (PE), particularly in Fire Protection is strongly desired. β€’ Should have knowledge of hazards and processes associated with refining, midstream terminals, petrochemicals, specialty chemicals, or similar high hazard facilities. β€’ Should have experience in hazard recognition and analysis techniques capable of developing practical solutions to complex design challenges. β€’ Preferred ability to develop models and interpret results from programs such as PHAST, FLACS, or similar. β€’ Should have the ability to present clear and technically sound fire protection engineering strategies and have good communication and negotiating skills.
