πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ The IBM DB2 Database Administrator will coordinate with the appropriate staff and management levels to deliver training and presentations. β€’ Design, develop, deploy, and secure DB2 databases and recognize potential enhancements or limitations of new software utilized within their area of expertise/tasking. β€’ Performs maintenance of application configuration files and kernel parameters. β€’ Automate system deployments and integrations with pipelines while applying the best-in-class orchestration and high availability principles to databases and associated applications. β€’ Secure database environments according to NIST and DHA standards, including encryption of data at rest, in-transit and in-use with certificates and encryption and application of STIGs. β€’ Assists with training and presenting to various audiences utilizing I.T. applications and government policy and procedures. β€’ Ability to synthesize and evaluate information from a variety of sources, prepare documents, and provide insight to allow leadership to make timely and accurate decisions. β€’ Accurately and reliably create backup, restoration, and recovery of the application systems including, but not limited to, configuration files, settings, processes, permissions. β€’ Execute archive and data retention tasks to migrate data between tiers of storage to meet performance objectives and data retention requirements. β€’ Responsible for testing and installation of all IAVA compliance items. β€’ Performs troubleshooting, tuning, problem diagnosis, and problem resolution as needed.

🎯 Requirements

β€’ Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related scientific or technical discipline. β€’ 7+ years of experience as an IBM DB2 DBA working on software projects or complex health systems β€’ Previous programming experience using shell script to drive automation β€’ Active Security+ certification preferred β€’ Experience working in a federal government agency environment preferred β€’ Previous leadership experience highly desired
