Description

• Architects, designs and implements a scalable and complex system • Works closely with the Principal Architect to provide technical expertise for architectural changes and programming decisions • Drives technical strategy and direction of the next generation platform • Mentors and supports other team members and provides engineering leadership • Collaborates with Engineering and Product leaders to make decisions around programming languages, architectures, products, tools, approaches, and processes • Provides business context for key engineering decisions • Solves complex problems related to global payroll, payments, compliance, and benefits • Helps design and implement a scalable, complex system • Looks for innovation opportunities between teams • Influences experienced engineering teams in adopting new designs and implementing standards • Develops and deploys enterprise-level solutions

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining highly scalable and highly available systems • Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns • Expertise in microservices architecture and design • Strong technical experience in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++ • Experience with AWS, cloud computing, and containerization • Experience with SQL and NoSQL database design and management • Experience with automation, observability, and telemetry tools • Proven track record of delivering world-class technology in a tech-led space • Ability to influence experienced engineering teams in adopting designs and implementing standards • Passion for leading and coaching engineering teams to build innovative and inclusive environments • Strong interest in quality and observability
