Description

• Computing infrastructure is critical to the autonomous driving system that makes L4 autonomous driving possible. As a Senior Software Engineer - Compute Infrastructure on the TuSimple compute infra team, you will develop the next generation infrastructure on the public cloud to achieve the scalability, reliability, usability and supportability to support our complex large scale pipelines and services. • Design and develop the next generation of computing infrastructure on the public cloud • Work in tandem with our engineering team to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions. • Define and document the best practices and strategies for application deployment, running, monitoring and infrastructure maintenance. • Provide guidance, leadership and mentorship to development teams to build cloud competencies. • Ensure application performance, uptime and scale, maintaining high standards of code quality and thoughtful design. • Regularly review existing systems and make recommendations for improvements. • Managing cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines.

Requirements

• Ability to work remotely and also visit TuSimple’s San Diego Office on a quarterly basis for on-site visits. • At least a Bachelor's Degree in CS or related engineering field is required. • At least 6 years of experience in architecting, designing, implementing, and testing infrastructure solutions on cloud platforms. • Strong experience in designing, developing and deploying large-scale data pipelines and web services. • Strong hands-on experience with docker and kubernetes. • Experience with workflow management tools such as Airflow, Argo workflow, etc. • Experience with distributed big data processing using Spark. • Experience with database systems such as relational databases, NoSQL databases, etc. • Experience in monitoring cloud performance and troubleshooting incidents, identifying root cause, and implementing solutions. • Good communication, documentation skills and team player.
