Description

• Develop and implement regional reputation strategies across New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey • Enhance corporate reputation, community presence, and visibility of innovative R&D sites • Lead therapeutic flagship programs with multiple stakeholders and commercial teams • Build and implement regional community engagement strategies • Serve as registered lobbyist for the region and lead state-based lobbying campaigns • Integrate state policy within public and private payer strategies to improve brand access • Lead early-diagnosis initiatives with public health officials, patient groups, and subject matter experts • Build relationships with elected officials, governors, executive agencies, trade associations, think tanks, and third-party allies • Lead engagement with national political organizations and committees • Advance sustainability and health equity initiatives • Participate in PAC grassroots solicitations, fundraisers, education, and recruitment • Build positive community ecosystems and support US expansion initiatives • Provide expertise on local state public policy, legislative matters, and strategy • Align state-related business objectives across commercial, market access, legal, sales, and marketing teams • Analyze legislative and regulatory initiatives and emerging issues • Develop legislative and regulatory strategies supporting brand objectives • Allocate resources, manage budgets, evaluate consultants, and manage contract lobbyists and strategic alliance managers • Liaise with Corporate Affairs partners and federal government affairs lobbyists • Develop state strategies addressing the Inflation Reduction Act and other federal mandates • Integrate AstraZeneca business goals and respond to emerging political issues

🎯 Exigences

• Bachelor's degree • Reside within New York, Pennsylvania, or New Jersey, with preference for New York state • 6–8 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or related industry • Strong public speaking skills • Strong negotiation and advocacy skills • Knowledge of legislative, regulatory, and political processes • Strong internal stakeholder and alliance-building capabilities • Amenable to lobbyists' travel/schedule, including late-night, off-hour, and weekend responsibilities • Up to 40% travel required • Desirable: 8+ years of experience in government, politics, or government affairs, including at least 6 years in the biopharmaceutical or related space • Desirable: interpersonal communications, public speaking, and writing skills • Desirable: experience with large public affairs projects enhancing corporate visibility and supporting growth and expansion • Desirable: deep knowledge of healthcare industry, public and private payers, supply chains, and state/federal political influence on the pharmaceutical business • Desirable: cross-functional experience across sales, market access, medical affairs, and corporate affairs in a highly matrixed organization • Desirable: proficiency in standard business software applications • Desirable: experience with ally development, public relations, and healthcare policy
