Description

• Design, build, own, operate, and support Doppler’s services, APIs, and data systems • Build the next phase of scale, including reliability, performance, and underlying infrastructure • Develop reliable agentic patterns with shared context, guardrails, and review practices • Lead by example in using AI while preserving security and quality • Own system designs and influence engineering standards • Collaborate with engineers to turn ambiguous product problems into durable, operable systems • Apply a security-first perspective • Raise engineering standards through code review, design review, and mentorship

🎯 Exigences

• 5+ years of experience building and operating production software systems • Strong technical fundamentals and opinions about service and API design • Strong data experience, including schema design, query performance, and migrations against live traffic • Experience with distributed systems, including failure modes, tradeoffs, and designing for both • Experience running production systems at scale and making major changes without downtime • End-to-end ownership of services, including shipping, monitoring dashboards, and production debugging • Deep, daily fluency with AI and agentic tooling • Genuine engagement with the AI industry and ability to distinguish reality from hype • Sound human judgment and ability to explain and defend shipped code without tools • Pragmatic approach to selecting robust versus simple solutions • Willingness to handle situations outside the job description • Knowledge and passion for security-first engineering • Experience with typed languages, especially Go and/or TypeScript • Experience with Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible, Pulumi, etc.), and a major cloud provider (GCP, AWS, or Azure) • Experience building multi-tenant systems with isolation guarantees • Experience designing or maintaining public APIs in scaled production environments • Experience releasing and supporting multiple versions in tandem • Passion for mentoring others and shaping engineering culture
