Description

• Build and ship core components of Huntress’s Agentic SOC investigation system • Design tools for agents to query telemetry, investigation logic, and structured evidence-backed outputs • Work with SOC analysts and product researchers to encode investigation expertise into agent behavior • Build LLM-powered features that summarize, correlate, and highlight analyst-relevant information • Build and extend evaluations to measure system performance and support changes with evidence • Design securely for attacker-influenced data, multiple customer tenants, and actions in customer environments • Write reliable, observable, cost-conscious production code that operates well when models are slow, wrong, or unavailable • Operate owned systems and help maintain system health as detections and products are added • Conduct code reviews, help teammates, share LLM development knowledge, and contribute to technical and design discussions • Balance rapid prototyping with rigor where the cost of errors is high • Collaborate with technical leads, SOC analysts, product researchers, and product managers • Own significant work end-to-end from ambiguous problem to production feature

🎯 Exigences

• 6+ years of professional software development experience, including building and operating production backend systems • Experience building applications with LLMs, including tool use, structured output, prompt and context design, and evaluation • Understanding of how LLM-based systems fail, with testing and debugging practices for non-deterministic behavior • Solid backend fundamentals, including APIs, background jobs and queues, concurrency, relational databases such as Postgres, and data stores such as Redis • Strong skills in one or more backend languages and ability to learn new ones quickly • Security awareness, including untrusted input, access control, and customer data separation • Curiosity about how security analysts think and work, and willingness to learn from them • Experience with AWS, Azure, or other public cloud environments • Experience with AI coding tools, such as Claude Code • BS or MS in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience • Experience shipping agents to production is a strong plus • SOC, incident response, threat hunting, or detection engineering experience is helpful but not required • Familiarity with endpoint, identity, Microsoft 365 telemetry, and attacker tradecraft such as MITRE ATT&CK • Experience building evaluation pipelines or datasets for ML or LLM systems • Experience with Ruby on Rails is a bonus
