• Understand and/or generate program statements of work and customer component application requirements • Drive creation and management of obsolescence mitigation strategies across design, materials and process engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and program leadership • Interface with customers, component manufacturers, brokers, and external suppliers • Develop and sustain proactive obsolescence management processes • Resolve obsolescence issues through lifetime buys, alternate parts, redesigns, and other mitigation strategies • Support contract negotiations, basis of estimates, and supplier statements of work for proposals • Brief program leadership on strategic decisions, build limitations, and risks • Communicate mitigation strategy status to program and customer leadership through reports and presentations • Conduct trade study analyses for cost-effective obsolescence-driven redesign cut-in points • Perform or assist with Parts Engineering, Components Engineering, or Applications Engineering tasks across proposal, design, production, and support phases • Interface day-to-day with Designers, Contracts, Estimating, Supply Chain, Program Management, and other disciplines • Travel to Raytheon and customer locations as needed, approximately 10–20%
• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) • Minimum of 8 years of relevant prior experience • Working knowledge of proactive and reactive component obsolescence management methodologies • Data collection, analysis, and presentation skills for assessing system impact of component obsolescence issues • Experience with BOM (Bill of Material) development and management for developmental and production programs • Understanding of Obsolescence Management, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, and Subsystems Design • Experience developing proposals and BOEs • Project Management skills interpreting SOWs, working with schedules, costs (EVMs), and stakeholder integration to deliver CDRLs • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance • U.S. citizenship required • Active and existing DoD Secret security clearance required after day 1 • Preferred: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related science or engineering discipline • Understanding of product lifecycle, including obsolescence mitigation, technical design/redesign, production, sustainment, end of life, and end of service • Ability to navigate multiple complex processes and tools • Understanding of technical theories and concepts as applied to electronic components and parts management • Ability to assess and prioritize obsolescence risks by production and sustainment impact • Ability to assess multiple projects and prioritize according to stakeholder and customer requirements
