Description

• Build intuitive, responsive, and maintainable user experiences for Sphinx’s space vehicle mission planning platform • Translate design mockups, user feedback, and system requirements into functional and visually appealing interfaces • Build performant, secure, scalable, and well-tested web applications • Lead critical feature development across the full software development lifecycle • Design, develop, and improve APIs and backend services • Develop and maintain backend functionality using Python, SQL, RESTful APIs, and containerized architectures • Collaborate with QA and engineering disciplines to define acceptance criteria, meet requirements, identify defects, and ensure software quality • Write and maintain automated unit, integration, and functional tests • Conduct code reviews and enforce engineering best practices • Advocate for improvements to usability, quality, security, and performance • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance • Help establish strong technical practices as the engineering organization scales

🎯 Exigences

• 5+ years of progressively responsible web or software development experience • Strong front-end development experience and understanding of modern UI development principles, component-based architecture, responsive design, performance, and usability • Extensive experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and modern front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, and/or Vue • Experience translating designs, user needs, and requirements into production-quality user experiences • Strong full-stack fundamentals, including Python, API development and integration, application architecture, and service-to-service communication • Experience with relational databases and SQL • Experience designing, consuming, and integrating APIs • Understanding of containerized and microservices architectures using Docker and Kubernetes • Experience collaborating with QA throughout the software development lifecycle • Experience writing automated tests and developing software against defined requirements • Understanding of software engineering best practices, including code reviews, version control, automated testing, security, performance, and maintainability • Ability to work with ambiguity, self-direct work, and provide technical guidance • Ability to own technical problems end-to-end and make sound engineering tradeoffs • Excellent communication skills and experience working with end users and cross-functional teams • Experience developing, testing, and deploying software within air-gapped or highly secure government network environments • Ability to hold and maintain a U.S. Government TS/SCI clearance • Must be a U.S. Citizen • Able to obtain and hold a U.S. Top Secret security clearance and be eligible to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance • U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee, or eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations • Bonus: experience with real-time 2D/3D geospatial visualizations • Bonus: experience in mission-critical, defense, aerospace, or other highly secure environments • Bonus: actively holding a U.S. Government Secret Clearance
