Description

• Architect and build internal tools and platforms for operations teams from design through deployment and ongoing operation • Own reliability and incident follow-through • Define service boundaries, integration patterns, data flows, technical strategy, and RFCs across teams • Reduce operational toil through system retirement, consolidation, tech debt management, and migrations • Build reliable legacy and third-party SaaS integrations with security, access control, and audit trails • Identify appropriate applications for AI and design retrieval, agent, LLM-powered, and workflow automation features • Run time-boxed proofs of concept and advance successful concepts into production-ready solutions with evaluation, observability, reliability, and security • Assess AI maturity, define a practical roadmap, and track AI cost and ROI • Design data models and instrumentation that generate clean, usable analytics data • Align teams on shared platforms, standards, and tradeoffs across competing priorities • Lead code reviews, design reviews, and engineering standards, using AI coding tools such as Claude Code and GitHub Copilot • Mentor engineers and advise stakeholders and leadership on technical tradeoffs and decisions

🎯 Exigences

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience • Staff or Principal-level scope, including leading architecture or major technical initiatives across multiple teams • Hands-on experience building applications with LLMs and generative AI in production • Experience operating AI systems at scale and measuring outcomes • Experience rolling out agentic systems into production, including evaluation, guardrails, and monitoring • Strong backend and systems design skills, including APIs, data modeling, cloud infrastructure, and legacy and third-party SaaS integrations • Reliability engineering experience, including SLOs, idempotency, retries, partial failure handling, and data consistency • Experience building systems that handle sensitive data, including access control, audit trails, and PII and privileged data handling • Experience with tech debt strategy, migrations, and system deprecation • Experience designing data models and instrumentation for analytics • Working knowledge of RAG, embeddings, vector search, prompt, harness, and context engineering, tool use and agents, and evaluation methods • Ability to weigh build-versus-buy tradeoffs against cost, complexity, and business value • Strong communication skills, including explaining AI concepts to non-technical audiences and driving decisions to closure • Preferred: experience with vector databases and search technologies • Preferred: experience with modern data stacks such as BigQuery, Snowflake, or dbt • Preferred: experience building internal tools or platforms for operations teams • Preferred: familiarity with ML fundamentals, fine-tuning, or model evaluation frameworks • Preferred: experience with AI cost management, including token usage, model selection, and caching • Preferred: background in legal or financial services
