📋 Description
• Implement and maintain Compliance programs according to the Office of Inspector General's work plan • Educate providers on compliance with government regulations, especially related to Medicare and Medicaid • Conduct routine internal audits of provider documentation • Collaborate with physicians in improving documentation and coding capabilities • Review internal controls, policies, and procedures for compliance with guidelines • Communicate with Medicare/Medicaid Carriers and third-party payers regarding policies • Promote Compliance initiatives with clinical faculty and administration • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described.
🎯 Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field • Four years of administrative experience in compliance, coding, and auditing principles related to insurance billing, collections, and revenue cycle functions • Two of the four years of experience should be with DRGs and APR-DRGs for technical coding • RHIA or RHIT or CCS required • CPC or CCS or RHIT or RHIA or CPMA required for professional coding • Specialty coding experience in surgical or E/M coding preferred. • Experience in formal teaching of coding is preferred.
