📋 Description

• Take a significant role on a wide range of DB pensions projects for DB pensions clients and bulk annuity providers • Undertake benefit correction/rectification exercises • Undertake pre-deal due diligence for bulk annuity providers • Provide governance work for trustees, including testing application of rules to benefits • Conduct benefit creation exercises, such as contingent spouse pensions • Perform benefit calculation audits • Create benefit calculation proformas for administration teams • Perform calculation testing against automated results and identify or improve calculation errors • Conduct data validation, audits, improvement and creation projects • Perform benefits and data due diligence • Create or review benefit summary specifications • Attend client meetings or calls • Act as the client’s primary point of contact on some projects • Document issues and results clearly by email and phone • Produce or review consulting reports • Supervise and check junior team members’ work, providing feedback and development support • Work directly with actuaries within the Special Projects team and wider actuarial department as required • Ensure a robust audit trail for all work activities • Liaise with administration onboarding and live administration teams to resolve issues pragmatically and accurately • Support team workflow management to achieve client delivery

🎯 Requirements

• A qualified actuary or nearly qualified actuary • Practical, wide/deep knowledge of occupational DB pensions • Flexibility to work on different types of DB pensions projects, sometimes simultaneously • Ability to deliver to tight timescales • Clear communication with actuaries and non-actuaries • Meticulous attention to detail • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team • Experience of supporting and developing actuarial students through project work • Good team player, with excellent attitude and flexible approach to work
