📋 Description

• Deliver pioneering analytical solutions for customers worldwide • Help build solid, reliable data platforms supporting AI • Design end-to-end data engineering solutions across multiple concurrent projects • Gather requirements and provide client consulting • Apply Microsoft Azure and cloud computing concepts • Build solutions using Apache Spark, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric or another Spark engine • Develop solutions primarily in Python • Write complex, high-performance SQL queries and understand query execution across compute technologies • Use Azure Data Factory and other cloud orchestration tools • Work with Azure Data Lake storage and Delta Lake • Apply data governance tools such as Unity Catalog and Purview • Use infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and Azure DevOps • Manage agile projects, including budgets and scope • Apply ETL, data quality, resilience, observability, CI/CD and SDLC practices • Collaborate with an inclusive team and contribute to knowledge sharing and the wider data community • Attend occasional customer and team visits

🎯 Requirements

• Must be based within the UK • Solid understanding of Microsoft Azure and cloud computing concepts • Experience with Apache Spark, including Databricks, Microsoft Fabric or another Spark engine • Proficiency in Python • Proficiency in SQL, including complex high-performance queries and query execution across different compute technologies • Experience with Azure Data Factory or other cloud orchestration tools • Experience with Azure Data Lake storage and Delta Lake • Experience with Unity Catalog, Purview or other data governance tools • Experience with an IaC tool such as Terraform or Azure DevOps • Requirements gathering and client consulting • Agile project management, including budget and scope management • Understanding of object-oriented development practices • Knowledge of ETL approaches, including data quality, resilience and observability • Understanding of CI/CD methodologies and SDLC • Ability to see the end-to-end solution across multiple concurrent projects • Technical passion combined with honesty and empathy for client consulting • Ability to share knowledge, skills and wisdom internally and with the wider data community
