📋 Description
• Reviews, prepares and negotiates legal and transactional documents for prospective reinsurance transactions. • Provides transactional reinsurance related legal support and advice to business units and executive management. • Supports affiliates on U.S. and international reinsurance transactions and advises on U.S. regulatory and legal issues. • Researches and provides legal advice on legal and regulatory issues. • Monitors, reviews and provides analyses of new federal and state legislation laws and regulations. • Advises the business on various matters, including interpretation and application of terms of agreements and corporate rules. • Utilization of artificial intelligence tools and resources (e.g. generative AI).
🎯 Requirements
• Juris Doctor degree (JD) from an ABA accredited law school • California State Bar license in good standing & required • 3-5 years of legal experience at a major law firm, specializing in reinsurance and/or financial transactions • Excellent academic credentials and reference • Solid business or transactional experience with excellent drafting skills • Strong analytical, oral, and written communication skills • Strong negotiation skills • High degree of intellectual curiosity and a keen interest in learning new areas of law • Ability to define legal issues and evaluate legal risks • Ability to analyze, research, and communicate legal issues regarding statutes and regulations affecting the insurance and financial services industry • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), online legal research tools.
