📋 Description

• Provide strategic legal counsel on product development, marketing, sales, and emerging technologies • Structure, draft, and negotiate commercial agreements involving advertising, marketing, and data service arrangements • Advise on legal risk management and evolving regulations concerning technology, commercial contracts, privacy, and consumer protection • Collaborate across business units, policy, compliance, and legal teams on enterprise-wide strategies • Anticipate legal issues and develop practical, innovative solutions • Conduct legal research and assess the impact of emerging laws and regulations on business activities • Align business goals with legal frameworks in regulated industries • Help shape emerging business models and opportunities • Partner with product teams on mobile applications, driving technologies, and novel corporate structures • Synthesize legal expertise into business-focused guidance in plain language • Draft data licensing agreements and lead commercial deal negotiations • Lead compliance or risk mitigation plan implementation with other departments • Contribute to collaborative problem solving across a distributed, virtual team • No supervisory duties over individual contributors, contractors, consultants, or temps

🎯 Requirements

• Juris Doctorate and active bar membership in good standing • Minimum of 7 years of legal experience • Expertise in one or more of commercial law, privacy, advertising/marketing law, technology, artificial intelligence, or intellectual property • Experience working within a corporate parent company and across affiliated entities • Strong leadership capabilities focused on collaboration, team development, mentoring, and strategic guidance • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Experience managing departmental or legal budgets • Solid project management skills, including prioritizing and delivering across multiple workstreams • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant legal or business technology tools • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities • Discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive and confidential information • High business acumen, including assessing and communicating legal risk in a commercial context and contributing to business cases and return-on-investment evaluations • Dedicated, private workspace free from distractions when working from home • Reliable internet with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload • Successful completion of a background investigation • Allstate generally does not sponsor individuals for employment-based visas for this position
