📋 Description

• Define the strategy and own the end-to-end expansion of Alpaca's brokerage infrastructure across EU markets • Own brokerage products tailored for EU markets, including equities, ETFs, tax-wrapper accounts, and related regional offerings • Own the EU tax and tax-wrapper product surface, including wrapper eligibility, contribution rules, tax-lot / cost-basis tracking, withholding and reclaim, and local reporting files • Analyze ROI, regional market competition, regulatory requirements, and build-vs-buy scenarios • Build and execute the product roadmap with MiFID II / MiFIR-compliant features and regional market needs • Write product requirements and work with engineers to execute programs meeting local regulatory and market standards • Improve brokerage operations efficiency and own metrics, focusing on regional settlement, custody, and clearing workflows • Lead customer calls about brokerage process and product issues and translate insights into product improvements • Report product status and results to internal and external stakeholders, including regional partners and institutional clients • Collaborate with local operations teams to integrate Alpaca's global platform with EU market infrastructure • Evaluate, onboard, and integrate local brokers; build and own connectivity to EU venues and market infrastructure • Work with regulators, partners, and internal teams to make Alpaca the brokerage platform of choice across the EU

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, finance, or equivalent • 5+ years of experience in Product Management, Engineering, Consulting, and/or starting a startup, preferably within financial services or fintech • Demonstrated interest and experience in brokerage, capital markets, or fintech within the EU • Strong understanding of MiFID II / MiFIR, ESMA, the EU capital markets landscape, and how member-state tax and tax-wrapper rules shape product design • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with excellent collaboration abilities • Business acumen to understand tradeoffs between stakeholders and technology feasibility with time and budget constraints • Experience and background working on and developing brokerage products in EU markets • Technical background working with APIs, particularly in financial services or trading platforms • Familiarity with CSDR, EMIR, T2S, or CSD connectivity • Hands-on experience shipping tax-wrapper or tax-reporting products (e.g. PEA / PEA-PME, ISK, PIR), including tax lots, withholding, and local reporting files • Experience working with cross-border / passporting investment products • Additional EU language(s) beyond English • Experience working at a fintech, startup, or EU-authorized investment firm
