📋 Description

• Set the AI technical direction and own architecture for AI capabilities across HotDocs • Define model management, LLM and agent orchestration, retrieval strategy, evaluation, cost and latency management, and delivery roadmap • Deliver AI-powered features from prototype to production at enterprise scale using .NET Core and React • Drive AI adoption across the software development lifecycle, including coding assistants, agentic workflows, test generation, code review, and documentation • Establish evaluation harnesses, guardrails, observability, and AI governance for accurate, explainable, and safe AI • Apply .NET and React expertise to modernize legacy code and improve scalability and reliability • Lead and mentor engineers through code reviews, design reviews, pairing, brown-bag sessions, and written guidance • Partner with product management, architecture, security, and customer-facing teams on the AI roadmap and build-versus-buy decisions • Extend CI/CD pipelines for AI workloads, including prompt and model versioning, automated evaluation gates, monitoring, and cost tracking • Ensure AI features address customer problems and provide responsive, transparent, accessible user experiences

🎯 Requirements

• 12 or more years of professional software development experience, including time in a principal, lead, or staff-level technical role • Strong skills in .NET Core (C#) and React (TypeScript) or similar SPA frameworks • Demonstrable experience designing and shipping production AI solutions, including LLM integration, prompt engineering, RAG, MCP, and agentic or tool-calling systems • Hands-on experience with cloud AI platforms and services, such as Azure OpenAI / AI Foundry or equivalent • Experience with orchestration frameworks such as Semantic Kernel • Experience building and maintaining REST APIs • Proficiency with Entity Framework and Azure SQL or SQL Server • Experience evaluating and improving AI system quality using test sets, benchmarking, human review loops, and handling non-deterministic behavior • Understanding of web applications and AI-specific security, including secure coding, prompt injection, and safe handling of sensitive customer data • Experience using Git and modern workflows such as pull requests and branching strategies • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, such as Azure DevOps or similar • Comfortable working in agile teams using Jira and Confluence • Practical experience using AI tooling within the SDLC, such as coding assistants and agentic developer tools • Track record of technical leadership, mentoring senior engineers, leading design reviews, and influencing roadmap and architecture decisions • Nice-to-have: deeper AI specialism in SLMs, fine-tuning, CAG, vector databases, AI observability, multi-agent systems, or AI/ML pipelines • Nice-to-have: experience with Microsoft Office Add-ins, .NET Framework / WPF, OAuth, SSO, distributed caching, Linux, Docker, PowerShell, performance tuning, application diagnostics, infrastructure-as-code, automation tooling, and enterprise SaaS or compliance-heavy domains
