📋 Description

• Set a strategic direction for Audubon’s Mexico Country Program based on the conservation strategies, initiatives and guidance provided by Audubon. • Lead and collaborate internally and externally to ensure conservation strategies and initiatives succeed. • Fundraise from public and private sources, including identifying prospects and opportunities to increase impact. • Recruit, retain, and manage high quality and effective core staff and a group of consultants. • Structure, implement and report on transformational projects in country. • Represent Audubon in public forums, at the CEO and Minister level, positioning the organization as a go-to leader in birds, conservation and sustainable development. • Maintain and grow outstanding relationships with key national and local organizations important to accomplish the organizational goals. • Develop and support a network of organizations that will advocate for the conservation and benefits for birds, nature and people across priority landscapes and seascapes in Mexico. • In collaboration with the Finance and Legal department of Audubon, support all aspects of operations within the country, ensuring operational compliance is within local regulations and country budget management. • Support a culture of philanthropy, including public funding efforts. • Collaborate with colleagues across the Americas including through joint planning and execution of shared priorities. • Maintain and foster a culture of safety. • Other job-related duties as assigned.

🎯 Requirements

• 10 years of related experience, preferably in or associated with the conservation and sustainability arena, non-profit or for-profit. • Experience in a leadership role preferred. • A dynamic, high-level strategic thinker, a great spokesperson, and an effective manager. • Commitment to Audon’s organizational values of care, collaboration, change, integrity, impact, and innovation. • Bird and habitat conservation work and experience is an important plus. • Record of accomplishment in policy and public finance. • Ability on working with partners and building coalitions. • An outstanding team player. • Management experience including leading and managing a multi-disciplinary team. • Written and verbal fluency in English and Spanish are required. • Superb communication and presentation skills required. • Experience communicating with and presenting to diverse audiences including donors, board members, employees, outside partners, or equivalent. • Experience in fundraising and budget management. • Ability to work effectively with others in a decentralized, geographically dispersed organization. • Experience fostering inclusive and collaborative work environments is valued.
