📋 Description

• Research, design, implement, test, and release features across SpiceDB and AuthZed open-source projects • Drive software development, testing, and CI/CD best practices • Own work end-to-end from development and deployment through production operations • Participate in the on-call rotation • Troubleshoot correctness, stability, and performance issues in distributed systems • Collaborate with users and contributors, review contributions, and participate in technical discussions • Evolve open-source projects and APIs • Identify opportunities to optimize processes and streamline operations • Collaborate with engineering, product, and support teams • Mentor colleagues • Produce technical documentation, blogs, and talks representing AuthZed

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience • 5+ years of experience working in programming languages such as Golang, Python, or Java • Strong systems engineering background, including distributed systems, operating systems, or databases • Experience building and debugging complex production systems where correctness, reliability, and performance matter • Experience with cloud infrastructure and managing distributed databases in cloud-native environments • Experience with CI/CD, Docker, and Git • Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders • Ability to thrive in remote-first, cross-time-zone teams • Experience building Kubernetes controllers or operators • Familiarity with database concepts including compilers, indices, query planning, optimization, and materialized views • Familiarity with modern authorization systems and access control models • Legal ability to work in the U.S. or Canada • Ability to travel twice yearly for company offsites
