📋 Description

• Translate Avaaz campaigns from English to French for distribution in France, Belgium, Switzerland, Canada, and to French-speaking members worldwide • Provide technical support for campaign development, including setting up email blasts and landing pages in the Avaaz website backend • Support drafting and testing of campaigns • Research relevant issue-specific sources from press, NGOs, and other organizations • Monitor and improve the French Avaaz website and other tools for functionality and language errors • Support the French campaign team in writing and editing briefings, advocacy letters, press releases, media materials, and social media content • Review, manage, and support petitions published by French members on the Avaaz Community Petitions website • Work closely with the French language lead and Member Support and Community Petitions teams; report to an Avaaz staffer

🎯 Requirements

• Excellent written and oral communication, and translation skills in French • Excellent communication skills in English • Professionalism, efficiency, and results-oriented delivery on short timelines • Flexibility and ability to adapt to varying weekly workloads • Passion and commitment to global justice, citizen empowerment, and social change • Strong teamwork skills in a highly collaborative culture and hierarchical team structure • Proficient in Google Suite and online communication systems such as Slack and Zoom • Ideally, cultural and linguistic understanding of regional differences, including France and Canada • Candidates would ideally be based in European, Middle Eastern, African, or Americas time zones • Independent contractor/freelance basis; responsible for own taxes and statutory contributions
