📋 Description

• Serve as a member of the technology and information security legal team • Support legal matters related to cloud technology, digital platforms and SaaS transactions • Support licensing and technology vendor agreements across Avantor’s enterprise • Work with IT, Privacy, Sourcing and Sales teams to enable the use of technology • Draft, review, and revise routine and non-standard agreements • Analyze draft contracts in accordance with Avantor contracting policies • Advise on complex IT vendor agreements and digital product contracting efforts • Develop and support playbooks and templates for consistent legal review • Assist with reviewing data processing agreements • Ensure alignment with IT and business strategies • Escalate complex legal and factual issues to senior attorneys and assist with resolution • Create, implement, and manage systems for agreement creation, negotiation, oversight, and execution • Coordinate contract negotiation with multiple cross-departmental functions • Obtain internal approvals for contract terms and provisions • Identify process improvement opportunities • Perform file management and records retention duties • Provide and receive constructive feedback and contribute to a positive team spirit • Communicate with senior leadership regarding legal risks and advise on possible solutions • Provide assistance and guidance to Contracts Specialists • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum 5–10 years of applicable professional experience in a law firm or corporate legal department • Experience handling multiple matters simultaneously and meeting quick turnaround deadlines • Ability to translate technical concepts into practical legal guidance • Excellent judgment • Ability to collaborate and work independently and in a team • Experience providing timely and strategic legal advice • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint • JD required from an accredited law school • Admitted to practice law and in good standing with the bar of at least one US state or the District of Columbia • Must meet local legal license requirements • Advanced contract negotiation abilities • Ability to communicate with senior leadership regarding legal risks and possible solutions
