📋 Description

• Serve as the subject matter expert on publication-related matters • Ensure relevant data, analysis, interpretation, communication, and publication planning • Adhere to good publications practices and BioCryst policies • Develop and revise internal guidance and policies supporting publication activities • Deliver training to internal cross-functional teams and external partners • Lead development and execution of medical and scientific publications across the hereditary angioedema and pipeline portfolio • Coordinate resources and, when needed, execute abstracts, posters, oral presentations, manuscripts, and scientific/medical meeting presentations • Coordinate writing, editing, formatting, and submission of articles to peer-reviewed journals and scientific/medical conferences • Build and maintain relationships with clinical experts, journal editors, and congress personnel • Manage annual budget, work, resource allocation, contracts, SOWs, and invoices • Manage publication vendors day to day • Oversee publication-planning platform documents for completeness, accuracy, and integrity • Keep current with GPP and ISMPP standards

🎯 Requirements

• Advanced scientific degree required (PharmD, PhD, MD/DO) • Minimum 10 years of Medical Affairs experience in the pharmaceutical industry and/or relevant clinical or scientific experience, including leading scientific publications • Experience developing and executing integrated publication strategies across pre-launch, launch, and post-launch phases • Pipeline portfolio and rare disease experience required • Expert knowledge of good publication practices and guidance, including GPP and ICMJE • Understanding of clinical trial design and execution, statistical methods, and clinical trial data reporting requirements • Ability to define and track publication performance metrics and assess scientific communication impact • Demonstrated leadership skills within large matrixed, cross-functional teams • Experience managing and developing high-performing teams • Strong project management skills, including publication planning, medical and technical writing, editing, and review • Ability to strategically analyze complex data and synthesize scientific information • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and document management systems such as PubStrat, SharePoint, Veeva Vault, and Smartsheet • Ability to travel domestically and internationally approximately 25% of the time
