📋 Description

• Shape the design of the E2E training and inference pipeline on- and off-vehicle and on- and off-prem • Develop new models and features for the E2E autonomy stack • Design and implement state-of-the-art online and offline reinforcement learning algorithms for complex, long-horizon tasks • Formulate reward models and exploration strategies supporting task performance and strict safety requirements • Enable flexible customer operation across tasks using natural language instructions • Improve policy robustness to sensor noise, machine wear, and extreme environmental variability • Design and conduct experiments and develop evaluation frameworks for simulation and real-world deployment • Collaborate with infrastructure engineers on scalable E2E training systems and large-scale simulation infrastructure • Collaborate with pretraining and robotics engineers to integrate RL into the full E2E autonomy stack • Drive the E2E vision and champion an E2E-first organization • Serve as an in-house RL expert through code reviews, algorithmic guidance, technical leadership, and mentorship • Track the latest RL research and integrate advancements into the stack

🎯 Requirements

• PhD plus 3 years or 5+ years of professional work experience delivering high-performance RL products professionally • Proven track record in developing RL models; production robotics experience preferred • Expertise in developing simulation environments and tackling sim-to-real transfer • Expertise in designing and developing software for complex systems • Comfort working on new hardware systems and new RL/ML/software problems • Strong Python coding skills • Proficiency with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch • Excellent brainstorming, creative thinking, mathematical analysis, and communication skills • Track record of anticipating technical issues and making architectural and design decisions to avoid them • BS/MS/PhD in CS or a related field • Experience with robotics middleware such as ROS or other robotics-focused software packages preferred • Strong CUDA background or other GPU frameworks preferred • Experience in multidisciplinary environments preferred • Embedded systems experience preferred • System architecture experience preferred
