📋 Description

• Cultivate a safety-first mindset within the engineering unit • Collaborate with FAA, DoD, and NASA Certification Authorities to navigate aircraft software certification • Develop and implement engineering strategies focused on safety and reliability • Prepare and submit comprehensive technical certification documentation • Mentor and develop engineering staff on safety protocols, certification artifacts, and processes • Analyze and resolve complex engineering challenges using data-driven decision-making and industry best practices • Monitor project progress and performance to meet delivery, safety, and certification milestones • Contribute to certifying safe, reliable, and innovative aircraft within Boeing Defense, Space and Security

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent • U.S. Person status required for export control compliance, including U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee • 9+ years of experience in software engineering • 5+ years of experience in software development life cycles, configuration management, and best agile software engineering practices • 5+ years of experience applying or working within RTCA DO-178 guidelines • 5+ years of experience leading software development projects • Recent experience in DoD or NASA Software Certification Engineer roles, or as an FAA DER or TSO Certification Specialist in Software or AEH • 6+ years of experience developing, documenting, and maintaining software architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs • Experience with concurrent software and distributed systems • Experience using software version control tools such as Git • Experience with Agile planning tools such as JIRA • Must complete a technical assessment as part of the selection process • Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status • This position does not require a Security Clearance • Drug testing may apply to post-offer applicants and employees
