📋 Description

• Manage multi-jurisdictional State and Local Tax (SALT) engagements for business clients • Prepare and review state and local income/franchise tax returns, sales/use tax filings, property tax returns, and other local compliance filings • Assist clients with registration, filing, and compliance requirements across multiple states and jurisdictions • Manage engagement timelines, budgets, and deliverables • Conduct in-depth research on complex SALT sales tax issues, including nexus studies, apportionment analysis, voluntary disclosures, credits, and incentives • Advise clients on tax-efficient strategies to minimize SALT exposure and optimize savings • Monitor legislative changes and communicate updates to clients and teams • Represent clients in state and local sales tax audits and negotiate with taxing authorities • Mentor staff accountants and interns and participate in business development activities

🎯 Requirements

• A minimum bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or related field • CPA license or working toward completion of CPA • A minimum of three years of sales tax experience • Proven experience with multi-state sales tax compliance, planning, and consulting • Familiarity with tax research tools (e.g., CCH, Bloomberg BNA, RIA Checkpoint) and tax compliance software, Excel, MS Suite • Strong technical expertise in nexus, apportionment, and sales tax compliance rules
