• Lead the development and execution of CATF’s pan-European policy advocacy strategy • Align regional priorities with global goals and program objectives • Serve on the senior leadership team to align organizational priorities, resources, and investments • Develop and empower a geographically distributed team of 7 policy experts and consultants • Lead regional fundraising with the Development team and oversee revenue growth, donor engagement, and sustainable funding • Guide advocacy efforts advancing practical climate solutions across Europe • Oversee external voice and messaging quality, serving as final reviewer for reports, policy briefs, white papers, and press releases • Represent CATF with European institutions, national governments, funders, industry leaders, media, and other high-level stakeholders • Manage regional resources, team planning, budgets, consultant support, and priority-setting across European initiatives
• At least 10 years of progressive experience in management, strategy, policy, and advocacy • Deep understanding of European political dynamics and context • Understanding of European energy and climate policy • Experience working with European Union institutions and/or Member States • Proven ability to shape and lead regional or multinational strategies in complex policy, nonprofit, advocacy, or technical environments • Strong track record engaging senior stakeholders, including government officials, industry leaders, funders, and multilateral organizations • At least 6 years of experience directly leading, coaching, and developing high-performing teams across cultures, locations, or disciplines • Experience managing significant budgets, resources, priorities, and organizational tradeoffs in a mission-driven environment • Fluency in English and ability to communicate clearly with internal and external senior-level audiences • Leadership style grounded in curiosity, collaboration, persistence, integrity, and commitment to measurable climate impact • Preferred: familiarity with CATF’s European work across methane, industries, carbon management, electricity, nuclear, fusion, geothermal, and transports • Preferred: additional European language skills • Preferred: background working in global, remote, or highly matrixed organizations
