📋 Description

• Contribute to CCU’s mission: Christ-centered higher education transforming students to impact the world with grace and truth. • In this role, the PhD in CES faculty will contribute to the University’s mission beyond the classroom through activities such as committee/task force/teamwork, community development, or similar activities internally and externally, which enhance and advance exemplary academics, personal spiritual growth, and engagement with the world. • Meet the expectations of the role of university faculty as defined in the CCU Faculty Handbook, the CAGS Faculty Handbook, and PhD-CES faculty job description. • Participate in faculty development opportunities and attend university events as assigned by the Dean. • Prepare and teach courses per CAGS standards and expectations. • Utilize Brightspace learning platform and other assigned technologies. • Assume the role of Subject Matter Expert (SME), which includes developing, redeveloping, assessing, and revising text updates of doctoral level courses and ensure their alignment with the PhD-CES Assessment Plan, CACREP standards etc. • Assess, validate, and make recommendations for student learning and for the PhD-CES program, per PhD-CES Assessment Plan, to ensure continuous quality improvement. • Serve as the primary advisor or a committee member in students’ dissertation committees. • Actively participate with peers in the School of Counseling faculty meetings, committee work, course development, course/program evaluation, and ongoing work of the School of Counseling. • Serve as designated faculty mentor/advisor for assigned group of PhD-CES students. • Represent the PhD-CES program and the School of Counseling at assigned CAGS center location for students, student advisors, and other related faculty and staff. • Identify with the counseling profession (1) through sustained memberships in professional counseling organizations, (2) through the maintenance of certifications and/or licenses related to their counseling specialty area(s), and (3) by showing evidence of sustained (a) professional development and renewal activities related to counseling, (b) professional services and advocacy in counseling, (c) research and scholarly activity in counseling commensurate with their faculty role. • Develop annual Service, Practice, and/or Scholarship Plan to include a minimum of 20 hours of professional development activities per year.

🎯 Requirements

• Doctoral degree in counselor education and supervision, preferably from a CACREP accredited program. • Candidates with a related doctoral degree and employment as a full-time faculty in a counselor education program for a minimum of one full academic year before July 1, 2013 will also be considered. • Clinical experience appropriate for graduate and doctoral level instruction. • Appropriate certification and/or licensure (e.g., LPC, LMHC) may be required to teach some courses. • Knowledge and demonstrated application of adult learning theory in the classroom. • Experience in teaching graduate-level courses. • A record of active scholarship, including peer-reviewed publications and presentations at professional conferences. • Knowledge of ethical standards of practice for professional counseling and counselor education and supervision. • Superior oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills. • Ability to work cooperatively within the CCU community. • Desire to be proficient in technological course assets and proficiency in appropriate Microsoft Office software is required.
