• Lead cross-functional teams through Ciena’s structured new product introduction process • Develop and coordinate release plans to ensure projects are delivered on time, with committed content and high quality • Proactively manage project risks by creating and executing risk management strategies • Track and report project status, including schedule, content, quality, and product cost • Document and communicate project progress, obstacles, and resolutions to senior management • Identify performance issues and drive recovery planning with the team • Oversee early pre-release customer engagements, ensuring deliverables and support are in place.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (preferred) • 5-10 years of technical leadership experience, including 3-5 years in Project Management • Strong written and verbal communication skills to influence and negotiate effectively • Proven expertise in project management, including planning, risk assessment, and problem resolution • Demonstrated team-building and leadership skills with a persistent and positive attitude • Ability to quickly learn and grasp technical concepts related to product development.
