• Promote and expand school and summer child nutrition programs and nutrition education and increase student participation in Southeast Ohio. • Advocate for the statewide expansion of school-based child nutrition programs, focusing on the School Breakfast Program and summer food programs through outreach to school, community, and faith-based organizations. • Develop and foster relationships and collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders within school districts and organizations/groups that support or intersect with schools and other community organizations serving children and youth. • Consult with schools to help them implement and sustain alternative school breakfast strategies, implement, or increase summer food programs and participation, and expand food access through other programs such as afterschool, school pantries, etc. • Consult with school districts to help them apply for Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for school building(s) within their district. • Consult with community- and faith-based organizations, and government agencies to help them implement and sustain summer food programs. • Act at a liaison between school districts and the No Kid Hungry partnership and campaign to identify schools needing resources, including grant funding, and assist schools in securing resources or funds to increase school and summer meal participation. • Collaborate with CHA afterschool and summer team to identify gaps in food access in the community and assist in making connections and building relationships in order to provide afterschool and summer meals in underserved areas. • Identify opportunities to expand nutrition education in school and community settings. • Collaborate with the Educate team to make recommendations for nutrition education programming, resources, resource-development, and partnerships. • Facilitate meetings with diverse groups of school staff or sponsors, community- and faith-based organizations, and government agencies, including designing and delivering presentations and coordinating site visits when necessary. • Ensure program grant deliverables are met, and all grant requirements are satisfied for the assigned service area, including the quantitative and qualitative collection of information from schools or other community- and faith-based organizations to demonstrate progress. • Utilize Salesforce to track activities and progress with districts, analyze child nutrition data, research, and collect best practices and success stories, prepare grant reports and track statistics, as necessary. • Other duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education, school administration, outreach and community development, or nutrition/dietetics. • Two years’ experience or equivalent in education, school administration, community outreach and development, or nutrition/dietetics. • Experience in school food service, K-12 education settings, child nutrition program administration, school administration, food service management, nutrition and wellness, hunger advocacy, and/or federal programs. • Relationships and/or work within school districts in Southeast Ohio strongly preferred. • Self-motivated with the ability to perform field-based work independently and make independent decisions. • Ability to work and collaborate with diverse individuals and groups and work with a geographically remote team. • Ability to effectively communicate an idea for adoption, support implementation, and promote sustainability. • Ability to establish and facilitate relationships with school and community partners to enable change. • Communications skills—oral, written, and presentation skills, including persuasive skills, active listening, and the ability to overcome objections. • Ability to plan, coordinate and facilitate meetings, presentations, trainings, and other such events. • Comfortable using virtual meeting platforms. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (highly proficient in Excel) and proficiency or willingness to learn Salesforce to document work, navigate data, generate reports, etc. • Ability to manage multiple projects and multiple priorities. • Organizational and time management skills. • Creative problem-solving skills. • Positive, resilient and unflappable.
