📋 Description

• Set product direction and strategy for a product or project • Own the product strategy and roadmap • Partner with program leads and cross-disciplinary team members to define project strategy • Make tradeoff decisions balancing user needs, partner expectations, scope, and timeline • Communicate product vision and strategy to teams and internal stakeholders • Align government partners and external stakeholders around product vision and strategy • Scope future opportunities with program leads • Lead multidisciplinary teams including design, research, and engineering • Work with product managers and discipline leads to advance organizational goals • Identify and escalate risks and determine mitigation strategies • Develop and refine team processes for efficient delivery • Mentor product managers and establish strong product practices • Model constructive communication, active listening, feedback, and inclusion • Engage in ad hoc projects and initiatives as organizational needs evolve

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of product management experience • Proven ability to lead high-quality product development using agile methods and iterative delivery cycles • Ability to interpret and use user research, usability testing, and data analytics for product decisions • Strong product judgment regarding prototyping, building, experimentation, and changing direction • Experience writing and reviewing product strategy documents and feature specifications • Strong communication skills and experience managing internal and external stakeholders • Ability to make difficult tradeoff decisions and facilitate productive conversations • Ability to manage day-to-day delivery while connecting short-term progress to a longer-term vision • Ability to identify product issues and advocate for solutions involving resourcing, scope, or requirements • Ability to connect team work to organizational strategy and recommend improvements to team outcomes • Curiosity about emerging AI tools and commitment to using them responsibly and effectively • Deep commitment to Code for America's mission • Full-time residence within the United States • Medicaid, public benefits, or insurance experience is a bonus • Product advisory or consulting work with government, civic tech, or a highly regulated industry is a bonus • Experience working directly with state or county government partners is a bonus
