📋 Description

• Own the data platform end to end, including architecture, reliability, and roadmap across Snowflake, dbt, and Fivetran • Move platform configuration from the UI into Terraform with Cloud Infrastructure • Reshape data models from source-shaped marts to domain-oriented business models • Set modeling standards, naming conventions, and review practices • Partner with Finance, Sales, Operations, and venue leadership to turn business questions into trusted models, metrics, and definitions • Partner with product engineering on schema design, data contracts, and upstream changes • Own data quality and observability through testing standards, contracts, reconciliation checks, and alerting • Own the metrics and BI layer, including rolling out the BI tool and governed Snowflake semantic views • Launch conversational analytics and agents on Snowflake native tools with evaluations and guardrails • Govern access control, PII handling, and documentation across analytics and AI • Manage and hire analytics engineers and direct contractors • Coach through code review, pairing, and clear expectations • Write dbt models, review pull requests, debug pipelines, and prototype new approaches

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering or data architecture, including building a modern data platform relied on in production • Experience using AI agents for multi-step work such as building models, writing tests, debugging pipelines, and documenting systems • Deep expertise in dbt and Snowflake • Experience designing project structure, testing strategy, and warehouse performance at scale • Experience managing platforms as code with Terraform or similar • Fluency in data modeling and experience moving from source-shaped models to business-shaped, domain-oriented marts through adoption • Experience building data quality and observability practices, including tests, contracts, freshness monitoring, and alerting • Experience building semantic layers and governed metrics • Understanding of natural-language and agent-driven analytics accuracy • Experience with managed ingestion such as Fivetran • Leadership experience as a tech lead, mentor, interviewer, or director of contractors/vendors • Ability to explain technical concepts to engineers and non-engineers • High agency and ability to set direction, make architecture decisions, and document reasoning • Bonus: ThoughtSpot or another search-driven BI tool • Bonus: Autonomous agents, fencing, monitoring, and improvement loops • Bonus: Salesforce, NetSuite, or HRIS data modeling • Bonus: Data preparation for AI use cases • Bonus: Hospitality, events, real estate, or other customer-centric, multi-location business experience
