📋 Description

• Deliver expert legal counsel on Employment and Education Law to Council departments and senior stakeholders • Handle employment and education law cases • Draft legal documents, pleadings, witness statements, agreements, reports, and correspondence • Represent the Council in Employment Tribunals, Courts, Inquiries, Hearings, and other legal proceedings • Provide guidance on legislative changes, case law updates, and new legal challenges • Conduct legal research and offer practical solutions to enhance service delivery • Support Senior and Principal Lawyers in maintaining legislative compliance and professional standards

🎯 Requirements

• Post-qualification experience as a Solicitor, Barrister, or CILEX Lawyer specializing in Employment and Education Law • Proven experience in advocacy, case preparation, and delivering legal advice • Competence in managing a legal caseload effectively • Experience in local government is advantageous • Must be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive (CILEX) • Possession of a current practising certificate, if applicable • 35 hours per week
