• Analyse large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, risks, and opportunities • Translate data into clear, meaningful insights for operational teams and senior stakeholders • Produce regular and ad-hoc analysis to support business performance, strategy, and planning • Provide sector and competitor benchmarking • Work with stakeholders to ensure accurate data capture, monitoring, validation, and reporting, and source up-to-date market intelligence • Ensure reports are accurate, timely, and aligned to agreed definitions and KPIs • Improve reporting efficiency through automation and improved data models • Understand reporting and analytical requirements with stakeholders • Present findings clearly to non-technical audiences using visualisations and summaries • Support decision-making by explaining insights, assumptions, and data limitations • Monitor data quality and highlight issues, inconsistencies, or gaps • Improve data capture and integrity with data owners and system teams • Adhere to data governance, privacy, and security standards • Improve analytical processes, reporting methods, and data flows • Contribute to standard metrics, definitions, and best practice • Support wider analytics and transformation initiatives
• Proven experience in a Data Analyst or MI Analyst role • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, formulas, and data modelling • Experience using BI tools such as Qlik, Power BI, or similar • Ability to communicate complex data clearly to non-technical stakeholders • Experience with SQL and/or Python for data analysis and automation is desirable • Understanding of data governance, data quality, and controls is desirable • Experience in a regulated or professional services environment is desirable • Exposure to forecasting, trend analysis, or performance management is desirable • Understanding of legal sector or insurance industry business context is desirable • Degree in a numerate or analytical discipline is preferable, or equivalent experience • Relevant professional or technical training such as Power BI, SQL, or data analytics certifications is desirable • Curious and proactive approach • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines • Collaborative and confident stakeholder engagement • Commitment to continuous improvement and learning
