📋 Description

• Provide timely, professional and high-quality service to clients • Work on a busy and varied caseload covering contentious and non-contentious regulatory issues for a variety of clients • Act as a client point of contact in accordance with client protocols • Assist with business development activities, including preparing and delivering pitches, presentations and training events • Manage files in compliance with firm and client protocols, including billing, credit control, WIP, file closures and management information • Take responsibility for quality control and benchmark compliance across own caseload • Maintain understanding of other practice areas and an active internal network • Develop technical knowledge through training, relevant publications and exceeding Law Society CPD requirements • Advise individuals and organisations facing criminal investigations and prosecutions relating to corporate homicide, health and safety, fire safety, food safety and environmental law • Advise on product safety and represent clients involved in Fatal Accident Inquiries

🎯 Requirements

• At least 5 years PQE with experience gained within a regulatory and/or commercially focused environment, in private practice or elsewhere • Ideally, experience advising on regulatory work including HSE/Police investigations, witness interviews, interviews under caution, prosecutions, sentencing hearings and inquiries • Experience in environmental breaches, trading standards, product safety, food safety and fire safety beneficial • Experience of business development and building client relationships • Willingness to travel at short notice to assist clients on the ground • Driving licence essential • Excellent legal drafting, analytical and technical skills • Ability to meet and exceed budgetary requirements in terms of time and fee income • Alignment with the Firm’s Cultural Principles: Clear, Creative, Determined and Supportive • Candidates based in Scotland
