📋 Description

• Join DSV’s venture creation programme as a Founder-in-Residence • Work closely with DSV and Renaissance Philanthropy to spin out a new company • Refine and improve the technical thesis for crop systems that can be primed for climate resilience • Develop commercial strategy, including IP strategy, differentiation and competitive positioning • Define the market value proposition, value capture and techno-economics • Develop regulatory strategy and positioning • Create fundraising strategy and investor pitches • Optimise company strategy for the fastest, lowest-risk path to Series A • Fulfil Investment Committee criteria • Recruit advisory and co-founding team members • Conduct parallel fundraising for additional expansion funds • Spin out the company by the end of Q2 2027, assuming Investment Committee success • Continue building the company with support from DSV and Renaissance Philanthropy post-spinout

🎯 Requirements

• Highly motivated by unsolved challenges in climate risk mitigation and driven to challenge the status quo in agriculture • Impact driven, proactive, initiative-taking and able to think from first principles • Entrepreneurial spirit and mindset, demonstrated through impactful innovation • Ability to work in ambiguous, unstructured, fast-paced, demanding and pressurised environments • Collaborative nature and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams • PhD or equivalent industry R&D know-how in plant physiology, crop science, molecular biology, epigenetics, microbiology or a similar field • Knowledge breadth across relevant technologies, including delivery systems for biologicals; developmental regulation and priming; plant-microbiome engineering; accelerated trait development and gene editing; and crop environment engineering • Translational execution, such as taking traits or actives from discovery to field, managing CRO/CDMO programmes, building regulator/investor/customer-ready data packages, and/or developing partnerships and scalable IP strategy • Cross-functional ownership across R&D, Product, Regulatory and IP, evidenced by shipped results such as trial outcomes, submissions, patents or launches, and/or design of pivotal field trials • Venture creation and fundraising, and/or product leadership in agtech, biotech or adjacent areas • Deep industry R&D in agtech or biotech may be considered as an equivalent; a PhD with applied field work and comparable outcomes may also qualify • Preferred: previous biotech Founder experience • Preferred: previous biotech C-suite experience • Preferred: previous VC fundraising experience • Preferred: commercial and business development expertise, including an agrochem/pesticide development network • Preferred: strong track record of building and leading successful teams
