📋 Description

• Overseeing and preserving the database estate, which involves monitoring performance and ensuring security • Creating and implementing strategies for database backup and recovery to safeguard data and facilitate disaster recovery • Diagnosing and resolving database-related issues, collaborating with developers to address database problems • Conducting database tuning and optimization to meet required performance levels • Administering database security, including the creation and management of user accounts, assignment of roles and privileges, and monitoring access logs • Collaborating closely with other IT personnel to align database environments with organizational goals and objectives • Developing and maintaining comprehensive database documentation, such as data dictionaries, data flow diagrams, and system diagrams • Remaining informed about emerging database technologies and industry trends • Providing support in administering other technologies currently supported by the wider team including cloud environments, Hadoop, and Informatica.

🎯 Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of expertise as a Database Administrator (DBA) or in a comparable role • Performance Tuning • SQL Server • Advanced T-SQL • PowerShell • Database tuning and optimization • Familiarity with cloud-based database technologies such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Microsoft Azure • Robust problem-solving and analytical capabilities • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment • Effective communication and interpersonal skills • Outstanding problem-solving aptitude
