• Lead talent growth across CEA’s Events, Groups, Online, and Courses programs • Build and develop a team of exceptional leaders by hiring, developing, coaching, and empowering program leaders • Set priorities, allocate resources, and make trade-offs across the Community Growth Team • Help set organization-wide strategy as a member of CEA’s Leadership Team • Coordinate across functions and help build the next era of CEA • Cultivate a collaborative culture and identify ways for the teams to advance funding growth and CEA’s brand • Define CEA’s overall talent growth goals with product owners and organizational leaders • Decide where to invest and what programs to grow, change, or stop • Accelerate EA community growth using product and impact judgment • Potentially create new programs to fill strategic gaps • Report to the CEO, Zachary Robinson • Attend CEA retreats, conferences, and other events, likely involving 5+ trips per year and several international trips
• Strong value alignment and high context with effective altruism principles and CEA’s mission • Familiarity with the EA community sufficient to drive strategic insights and understand ecosystem-wide implications • Strong track record of senior leadership in a complex organization • Experience setting direction, making high-quality decisions under uncertainty, and translating strategy into execution • Established track record of building and leading high-performing teams • Experience hiring and developing managers, creating ownership and accountability, setting high standards, and managing performance issues • Product-development mindset and experience designing experiments with clear success criteria • Ability to make hard decisions using qualitative and quantitative data • Entrepreneurial drive and comfort with ambiguity, uncertainty, and rapidly scaling environments • Strategic vision and ability to empower teams to implement strategy and motivate shared goals • Strong stakeholder skills and ability to collaborate across CEA and with leaders at other EA organizations • Experience in product roles, nonprofit programmatic leadership, senior generalist roles, growth-oriented roles, or startup generalist roles may be helpful • Ability to work in time zones between US Pacific Time and CET is preferred • Ability to attend 5+ trips per year, including several international trips • For US employees, participation in E-Verify
