• Lead and coordinate the development of European government affairs initiatives and strategy ensuring an overall focus on the organization's core objectives, goals, and plans. • Managing a team of Europe-based consultants. • Lead and coordinate the European lobbying efforts and strategies in close cooperation with the Head of International Government Affairs and other senior management as appropriate. • Establish, develop and maintain strong relationships with relevant EU Institutions and other European Institutional Bodies. • Establish, develop and maintain strong relationships with Members of Parliaments and governments (EU (and National)). • Execute on the Company's position, strategies, and advocacy materials by working closely with Public Affairs, Legal, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Products Business, and Communications. • Serve as a key ambassador to influential stakeholders; cultivate high-impact relationships and drive engagement with key external stakeholders, including the European Commission, foreign governments, U.S. overseas representatives and third parties. • Ensure compliance with relevant ethics laws in the countries where Emergent engages in Government Affairs work, whether directly or through third parties. • Frequent travel to Brussels and close collaboration with cross-functional teams throughout our global organization.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in International Relations and Political Science. • 7-10+ years of experience in Government Relations. • A deep knowledge of the European institutional and Member State government landscape, legislative processes, and ethics laws. • Knowledge of other European governmental processes would be a bonus. • Experience working in politics and/or corporate government affairs. • Ability to work fluently in English, both written and oral. • Additional European languages would be an asset. • Ability to work collaboratively across the organization. • Self-motivated, independent self-starter. • Strong public speaking skills. • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to synthesize political and legislative issues to policymakers and the public. • Superior organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to coordinate multiple projects including action items, timelines, and budgets.
