📋 Description

• Develop price elasticity curves to forecast the impact of rating changes on policyholder retention, conversion, and customer lifetime value • Forecast policyholder retention and conversion based on pricing, operational changes, and business initiatives • Improve risk segmentation by developing GLM-based rating factors in R or Python and applying advanced predictive modeling techniques • Build and maintain tools monitoring rating plan and rate-level performance, including loss ratio, conversion rate, churn, and lifetime value • Write advanced SQL procedures to extract data from large veterinary bill databases • Estimate the pricing impact of coverage and product changes • Analyze product design proposals for pricing viability, enterprise risk, competitive positioning, and customer value • Research competitor filings to understand market pricing and product positioning • Support rate filings and rate indications, including filings and responses to regulatory objections • Collaborate with product, underwriting, marketing, BI, and IT teams • Communicate complex actuarial concepts to non-actuarial audiences • Propose creative pricing approaches for innovative coverage concepts • Present findings to senior leadership and contribute to actuarial pricing and financial forecasting initiatives

🎯 Requirements

• ACAS designation required (or ASA working in health insurance) • At least 5 years of experience working in an actuarial or data science P&C and/or Health insurance role • At least 2 years of experience in an actuarial ratemaking and/or pricing modeling role • Advanced knowledge of SQL • Strong knowledge of R and/or Python • Intermediate knowledge of Excel • Advanced knowledge of generalized linear models (GLMs) • Intermediate knowledge of elastic net GLMs, k-means clustering, and geospatial statistics is desirable • Ability to review and evaluate data for quality, completeness, and reasonability • Experience performing competitor filing research in SERFF is a plus • Comfortable or willing to learn AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, or Gemini • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills • Ability to anticipate needs, innovate, and flourish in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
