📋 Description

• Lead grid compliance deliverables on long-duration BESS projects from pre-construction through Final Operational Notification (FON) • Manage projects and key stakeholders, including BoP contractors, BESS suppliers, consultants, TOs and NESO • Review grid-related contract sections, schedules, technical outputs, system studies and tender submissions • Support design development, technical due diligence, project decisions, schedules, risk registers and budgets • Coordinate with the grid development team and TO engineering teams • Manage Mod-App processes and review updated NESO grid connection documentation • Track commercial and programme milestones in grid connection agreements • Lead engagement with NESO for ONCP • Review contractor detailed designs, technical RFIs, network data and systems studies • Coordinate BoP contractors and BESS suppliers through the compliance process • Support testing, commissioning, safe energisation and handover of assets to Asset Operations • Attend Commissioning Panel meetings and support operations and maintenance documentation reviews • Manage open compliance issues from ION through FON • Support electrical due diligence for acquisitions • Lead technical site evaluations and third-party investigations • Review transmission and distribution connection offers • Liaise with developers, TOs and DNOs regarding connection status and delivery programmes • Monitor industry updates and grid code changes to identify project risks

🎯 Requirements

• Electrical Engineering (or similar) degree and/or over 8 years industry experience in a technical or grid orientated role • Good commercial mind • Thorough understanding of transmission grid connection compliance process and wider connection and project delivery process • Thorough understanding of the grid compliance process • Understanding of project health and safety requirements, including CDM • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Stakeholder management skills • Passionate about power systems engineering • Well-versed in UK grid code • Experience managing the end-to-end compliance process on transmission-connected renewable projects is requested • Experience on projects in north Scotland is particularly valued
