📋 Description

• Architect future versions of key systems, including databases and distributed jobs, to meet scaling needs • Design and implement developer tooling that makes development and deployments safer, reproducible, and easy to roll out • Drive excellence in observability and monitoring • Guide incident response to resolve issues quickly and improve the on-call experience • Collaborate with engineering teams to maintain technical quality and address technical debt, upgrades, and platform improvements • Mentor engineers on designing reliable, fault-tolerant systems and creating easy-to-use runbooks

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of experience with backend technologies in a public cloud environment • Proven track record of scaling and troubleshooting production systems or services • Experience leading cross-functional projects with business impact • Deep understanding of end-to-end request flow across frontend, CDN/WAF, load balancing, and backend services • Ability to reason about performance, reliability, and failure modes across the stack • Strong fundamental knowledge of SLAs and SLOs • Experience managing technical debt and driving engineering quality improvements across multiple teams • Experience with OpenTelemetry, StatsD, or Prometheus • Working knowledge of PCI and SOC2 compliance frameworks • Experience with infrastructure as code, such as Terraform or CloudFormation • Familiarity with Sidekiq, Redis, or other asynchronous job-processing systems • Experience with mobile app infrastructure, such as Capacitor or React Native • Experience building internal tooling or bots to improve engineering workflows • Interest in financial services, accounting, and/or self-employment
